Hōkūala is proud to be part of a vibrant community here on Kauaʻi — which is why we recognize the importance of giving back. We strongly believe in investing in our community, education, our young people, and their future. With this in mind, Hōkūala was proud to play host to the inaugural Operation Rising Star golf tournament on December 18th, 2022 at our award-winning Jack Nicklaus Signature Ocean Course.

Proceeds from the tournament directly benefit Folds of Honor, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing scholarships for the spouses and children of our nation’s fallen or disabled first responders and military heroes.

We set an ambitious goal to provide 27 scholarships valued at $5,000 each to students throughout the Hawaiian Islands. So far, we’ve managed to raise more than $115,000 — that’s enough to fully fund 23 scholarships, which will be distributed by Folds of Honor to military families in need of educational funding.

Despite the rainy weather, all our participants had an amazing time and were proud to lend their support to such a worthy cause. We are humbled to have partnered with Lt. Col. Dan Rooney and Folds of Honor to support this incredible initiative and would like to extend a heartfelt mahalo to all our generous sponsors.

2022 Recap

Of course, 2022’s tournament is only the beginning. We look forward to playing in support of Folds of Honor once again on Sunday, December 17th, 2023. See you on the links!
