Stewardship of the land goes to the heart of Hawaiian culture. Embodying this ethos is The Farm at Hōkūala, a 16.5-acre fruit orchard and organic vegetable garden cultivated on land reclaimed from a once-overgrown golf course.
A Living Legacy
The Farm at Hōkūala is home to 12 species of traditional “canoe plants,” descendants of the original plants the Polynesian voyagers first brought to Hawaiʻi’s shores centuries ago in their outrigger canoes — a proud agricultural tradition that connects us to the land and its storied history.

Hōkūala Honey
Beginning in 2018 under the care of resident beekeeper Mike Yolo, Hōkūala’s on-site apiary has grown to produce around 120 gallons of honey each year, along with small-batch beeswax candles and balms. This sweet harvest has been used by Chef Alex in the farm-to-table menu at Hualani’s as well as shared amongst the Owners at Hōkūala.

Farm-to-Table Dining
Indulge in an unforgettable taste of the Garden Isle at Hualani’s restaurant. Specialty entrees, pupus, and cocktails are crafted with seasonal ingredients from The Farm at Hōkūala and inspired by the rich culinary traditions of Hawaiʻi.

Explore The Farm
Guided, hands-on tours offer a window into the history, culture, and cultivation of traditional crops brought here by Kauaʻi’s original Polynesian settlers. Connect with the land, help with planting and harvesting, and learn all about The Farm’s diversity of animals, plants, and insects — including an on-property apiary that produces more than one hundred gallons of honey each year.

Our Roots Go Deep
When you own a home at Hōkūala, you become part of our ʻohana. New Owners are invited to join us at The Farm at Hōkūala for a special tree-planting ceremony, celebrating your stewardship of the land and place in our thriving community.
