Flower 3rd Annual Scholarship Program

Hōkūala is proud to announce our 3rd annual scholarship program for our island’s keiki.

At Hōkūala, we believe in embracing the land, community, and spirit of aloha. This year, we will award five scholarships to high school graduates of Kaua‘i. The scholarships are awarded to 5 students for $1,000 each. To give special thanks to our ‘ohana, one scholarship will be awarded to a dependent family member of a Hōkūala employee.

Scholarship Applicant Requirements

To be considered for a Hōkūala scholarship, an applicant must

  • Be a graduating student residing on Kaua‘i
  • Plan to attend a college, university, or other institute of higher learning during the following academic year on a full-time basis
  • Demonstrate leadership at school or in the community
  • Require financial assistance to attend college

How to Apply

Email the following items to [email protected] by May 31, 2024:

  • At least one letter of recommendation from a faculty or staff member at your school
  • Resume with the following information:
    • Extracurricular activities (school and/or community-related)
    • Honors and awards that you have received
    • Work experience
    • Current High School transcript
  • Essay
    • In no more than 500 words, describe your reasons for pursuing higher education, your interests in your chosen field of study, and how this scholarship will help you achieve your goals and plans
  • Completed financial aid form

Winners will be notified by June 15, 2024, and will be invited to Hualani’s restaurant at Timbers Kaua‘i for an awards reception! Good luck to all applicants.
