On the Water surf & sand
As you come to know Kauai, you come to realize that all the best beaches are in your neighborhood. Throw a bag over your shoulder and stroll over to the sandy crescent that is Kalapaki Bay beach. Minutes away, through the tree tunnel, are the endless stretches of Poipu and the cliffs at Shipwreck. There are simply no boundaries to the ways you can immerse yourself in the wondrous Pacific.
Deep sea fishing – incredible. Imagine the wahoo or mahi mahi you’ve caught for tonight’s three-course dinner. The diving – spellbinding. Reef fish found nowhere else on earth are here along the Kure Atoll. Adventure at Hokuala awaits everywhere.
In Hawaii, the return of the humpback whale is considered more of a homecoming than a visit – because calves are born in Hawaiian waters, they’re Kama‘aina. From December through May, watch them from your lānai as they frolic off the shores of Hōkūala.
